On bugs and happiness.

Some people think bugs are something to smush and sweep into the trash. But I’ve found something else while feeding crickets and watching mosquitos fill up the tank with my blood.

I sometimes wonder why people don’t like bugs. I’ve blamed movies and media, politicians and big pharma, but no matter the source, those who fear and hate bugs are usually wrong about one thing. They believe the lie that bugs are dangerous, but actually, most can’t hurt you (and wolf spiders generally won’t).

There is beauty in bugs. Look closely–look at them like they’re part of creation, and see if you don’t appreciate them more.

Besides, it’s a fact that people who like bugs are happier.
