Your Garden Checkup

Hi!

I planted the garden indoors, but some of the plants withered away completely! I feel a little bad, but it’s not too late to get everything back up and running in time for summer 😊 And besides, the tomatoes are healthy, which is all I can ask for!

I’m drying out crimson clover to make tea later this season! I’m excited for cups of ice-cold clover concoction!

I honestly get so excited every time I get to try a new plant. This week I learned about black locust and ate some of the flowers (the only edible part on the entire tree!). Black locust is in the family Fabaceae which is the pea family and the flowers tasted like sweet peas.

I learned that wisteria flowers are similar to black locust flowers and edible! I missed out on that completely! Our wisteria has withered away already!

I found this nightshade! I don’t know exactly which kind it is, but it sure is cool, isn’t it? Everyone loves to tout how poisonous the nightshade is, but most of them are edible—tomatoes for example!
